LULAC’s Grand Festival at Ascarate Park

When it comes to entertainment, there’s nothing that can please a crowd more than a shiny display of fine automobiles.
Latin Pride, Our Story, Traditionals and Destiny car club assisted the promoters of LULAC’s Grand Festival at Ascarate Park by parking their prestine rides at the events main enterance.
The fine auto display succeeded in attracting hundreds of curious spectators into the border town roots event.
A shiny array of grand daddy classics and cool custom lowriders could be seen parked in uniformed formation as music played by bands such as Banda Macho, the Kumbia AllStarz, Sunny Ozuna and Tierra filled the air.
“Events like these have to come around more often. The people of El Paso really crave these activities”, said Beto Paura who attended the event with his wife and 3 small children.
Sunday's event resembled that when car clubs cruised bumper to bumper in the past.
Ascarate Park is the largest public-use recreational park in El Paso and once attracted dozens local car clubs from across the Sun City and Las Cruces, New Mexico every Sunday during the early 1990's.
El Paso's classic bomb and lowrider scene still runs deep and we look forward in featuring more of the cities great events.
