When we heard that Latin Pride Car Club would be displaying some of their immaculate classic rides at the 2009 Summer Showdown at El Paso’s Cohen Stadium we cruised to the event to catch a glimpse of lowriding at it’s finest.

We met with Latin Pride founders Hector and David Gonzalez and spent the afternoon chilling under the El Paso cloudy sky with them and other Latin Pride club members.

After slamming some cold ones and talking about their classic rides, we stumbled upon a pretty and petite model named Lowrider Girl and snapped some photos of her by Hector Gonzalez’s flawless creamy white 1939 Chevy and David Gonzalez’s Beachwood Chicano Brown 1939 Chevy; and Roy Garcia’s pearl white 1962 Impala.

Dozens of impressed spectators enjoyed the rare and priceless beauty of these fully restored classics, as well as other cool cars owned by both local and out of town car clubs.

El Paso’s Slow & Low, Pachuco, Traditionals and Albuquerque’s Dukes Car Club enhanced the beauty of the event with their fine display of modern euros, custom cruisers, bombs, trucks and SUV’s.
The show was topped off with a lively Diamond Girls dance performance, hip-hop jams by hip-hop artist’s El Dreamer, Mr. Geo, DMX and other talented musicians.

We’d like to express our appreciation to Latin Pride Car Club for allowing us the honor of enjoying the afternoon with their club and family members; and Diamond Girls founder Rocky for his great hospitality.
