*C.A: Hello. We greatly appreciate you taking the time for this interview. We've attended three of your fights and we really wanted this opportunity to learn more about you. Lets start off by discussing your youth. What age did you realize you had what it takes to become a professional boxer?
*Austin Trout: By the age of 13 and through the help of my coach San Dipaci I began to realize that I had would took to become a professional fighter. Coach San Dipaci would take me to national boxing tournaments. I had no idea that I could compete on this level..
*C.A.:Your trainer Louie Burke, is one of the best trainers in the business. What have you learned from him?
*Austin Trout: My trainer Louie Burke has helped develop me as a fighter, he instilled in me that I can be a contender in the national ranks as long as I keep trying. He is pushes me to train hard and to never give up.
*C.A: You fought a tough fight last December with Erik Esquivel. We were very impressed with both of you guys. Two good fighters refusing to lose. What did you learn off your well-earned boxing victory?
*Austin Trout: I felt like I was in great shape for the fight, but realized that I needed to up my training. This fight was set for 8 rounds but ended up at 6 rounds. Some guys don’t go down so you got to keep hitting them. Esquivel was one tough fight.
*C.A: How do you maintain your focus and discipline in the strict sport of boxing?
*Austin Trout:A lot of praying always helps. A lot of people say where you at?” I keep to my training and take it very seriously.
*C.A: Many people predict that you're going to make it big. You're in your prime and have an open road of opportunity. Do you truly believe you're going to make a huge impact in the profession of boxing? If so please tell us why?
*Austin Trout: No doubt in my mind am I going to be making it big. I was one of the best amauters and am now one of the best professional boxers. The thing that makes me sure is who I have on my corner God.
*C.A: We all have dreams and fantasies. If you could step into the ring with a world known boxer of your choice right now, who would it be?
*Austin Trout: I would love to fight. Julio Cesar Chaves Senior. I Think I could out box him. I would do what Meldrick Taylor did in the historic boxing match named “Thunder Meets Lightning”.. ( Chaves won controversial 12 round knock out.)
*C.A: Who is the boxing legend you most respect and admire?
Austin Trout: Sugar Ray Leonard.
He is such a beautiful boxer. When boxing did not work he would just fight
I model my career after him.
*C.A: Which other true passions do you have other than boxing?
*Austin Trout: My kids, video games and Math. I like to continue and further my education
