WHO; Anyone who has the passion, dedication, drive, and determination
to live their God given or developed talent and artistry. One whose
vision is focused, willing to work hard and to learn their craft. It
must be an obsession.
WHAT: A surfer eating tons of water for a 60 second cool ride through
the ocean waves. The fighter taking a hard punch, getting up and
taking his opponent out. The �band playing one night stands, writing
mediocre music ‘til the big hit that �wins a gold record .The
dancer, aching back, sore feet, missteps, doing one more jump
,becoming a prima ballerina. The kid in the soap box derby , who
sweats, crashes, �and wins the Daytona 500.The back street tough guy,
who street fights anyone who comes along until he is MMF champion. The
kid with magic marker, drawing on his hand-now the top tattoo artist.
The shy girl in the back of the class writing silly poems and love
letters, making the NY Times Best Seller List. The kid making a skate
board out of used wood and old roller skate wheels winning a Skate
Board Championship. The doodler who has a painting showing in a top
Art Gallery.
WHY: Because they have different eyes. Other peoples' obstacles
become their pinnacles. They are obsessed with being better than good.
They push themselves to enjoy and refine their talents Their conflicts
become convictions. They live their art.
WHERE:� CONVICTED ARTISTS are EVERYWHERE! All walks of life; the
prisoner confined to a 10 x 10 foot cell sees beautiful pictures to
create to bring beauty to his ugly existence. The housewife who dreams
�fantasies and puts them to paper. The kid in the slums trains his
body and his mind to fight his way out. The gangly teenager who takes
dance to gain poise and creates a graceful dance. The kid building
sand castles, watching his skyscraper reach for the sky.
HOW; By becoming obsessed, outside themselves, to reach their goals
or to escape their present situations in life, or to fulfill a
lifelong desire. By learning ,doing, practicing, suffering failures
and doing it again, and ---you got it, again. By living the Dream. �By

WHEN: When the guy at McDonalds who draws funny faces with mustard,
on the burgers takes a cartoonist class. When the gal writing love
poems on the bus on the way to work takes a writing class. When the
housewife who makes those fabulous cakes enters a cooking contest.
When people� who think they have no talent, mentor those who do have
talent, mentoring is a special talent. If you pirouette around the
room take a dance class. If you sing in the show take a vocal class.
If you don't like the news articles in the newspaper, take a class in
journalism. What ever your bent is , turn off the game boy and the TV
and develop your talent, Live it! Pursue it! Obsess it!
