Tow-in Surfing

Tow-in Surfing is a technique where a surfer is towed into a breaking wave with a helicopter or watercraft.

This high risk and dangerous sport is relatively modern starting in the 90’s. Tow-in surfing was derived from the big wave surfers who wanted to power surf waves that were breaking on outer reefs.

Tow surfing utilizes energy in excess of forty-foot waves. Making it one of the most extreme and dangerous sports known today.
