The Shys
By C.A.
Artist performance: Los Angeles

The Shys artsy update of Indy and Rock & Blues was born in the green surfer town of San Clemente, CA.
This cool band of talented musicians out grew the garage and headed off to L.A. to pursue the fame they have now gained and their popularity just seems to keep on spreading.
Known for their "west coast white house," it's the artistic west coast where Richard Nixon laid down his blanket as well as a place where singer/guitarist, Kyle Krone and Bass player, Alex Kweskin grew up as childhood best friends.
Kweskin grew to master the piano and drums while putting his passion for music before school while Krone dreamed of one day starting a band.
But they never got around to it until they befriended Chris Wulff who ruled the guitar. As teenagers, the band displayed their talents for their high school and their cool sound became a symbol of the hip California Indy scene.
After graduation, the group continued mastering their art in music and played live in the tough California bar scene. They named their band "The Gunshys" but all who had heard their music only remembered them simply as "The Shys" so the name stook to them like super glue.
This five dude Californian garage band are now located in Los Angeles, California and their current band now consists of Kyle Krone, Chris Wulff, Alex Kweskin, Riley Stephenson and Tony Cupito.
Their smashing debut album titled Astoria was released on the summer of 2006. The bands notorious speedy energy and smashing live performances have earned them fans all over the United States as well as the UK and other parts of Europe.
The Shys musical influences consist of The Clash, The Libertines, and The Rolling Stones.

Sky scrapers in your eyes and the buildings grow
I'd say its better left alone
Drive all night last minute flight
Take me far from my home
Take me far from my home
I used to break my back for minimum pay
Feet on the ground and my head far away
Robbed by a man with a suit and a pen
Swore to God he was my friend
(Never left alone)
Swore to God he was my friend
(Never left alone)
I was stripped down to the skin
Come on let me in
Cause I’m worn to the bone
And I can not go home
I can not go home
I left the city with my oldest friends
Days by the sea with a drink in my hand
Rolled cigarettes, table wine
Long distance calls sending post cards home
(Never left alone)
Long distance call sending post cards home
(Never left alone)
I was stripped down to the skin
Come on let me in
Cause I’m worn to the bone
And I can not go homeI was taken for a ride
I won’t be denied cause the truth is what I need
I’m saying goodbye
Saying goodbye
Saying goodbye
Saying goodbye
I was stripped down to the skin
Come on let me in
Cause I’m worn to the bone
I can not go home
I was taken for a ride
I won’t be denied cause the truth is what I need
I’m saying goodbye
Saying goodnight
