Common
Tattoo Mistakes
There are lots of mistakes that people make when getting a tattoo for the first time. One of these more common mistakes is:
Putting a small tattoo on the wrong place
Quite often people will get a tattoo that is just too small. A small tattoo on your chest or back just gets lost on the body. So always keep this in mind, small tattooes look good only on the neck, wrist or ancle NO WHERE ELSE. Putting a small tattoo, say on your back will look more like a small cock roach. Save your back, arms and legs for bigger tattooes no smaller than the entire palm of your hand.
THE GOOD
This is an exellent example of crisp and clean tattoo work. The artist used a nice technic known as "blood shading" to thin out the black ink and get the grey-like mid tone.
THE BAD
This may pass as an okay-looking tattoo now that it's still fresh, but that won't be the case in a couple years when the ink starts spreading. The amateur who tattooed this made the mistake of out lining the pattern too thick, so not only will the ink spread but scars of the out line will definately be visable in sunlight. He also did a lousy job with the shading and went too dark on the rose.
THE UGLY
My heart goes out to this poor girl. Tragedies like this happen when people try to save a buck in getting their tattoo done. The clown who made this mess obviously carved her up.. Avoid this by choosing a shop with a quality reputation .
Tattoo Quotes
“We are all tattooed in our cradles with the beliefs of our tribe; the record may seem superficial, but it is indelible.” Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. (1841-1935)
For someone who likes tattoos, the most precious thing is bare skin. Cher
The perfect tattoo... the one I believe we are all struggling toward... is the one that turned the jackass into a zebra. Cliff Raven
Good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good. (A sign seen in many tattoo shops)
"Stewed, Screwed and Tattooed", a colourful synopsis of shore leave for many sailors after having spent many months at sea! A good port of call for men who worked at sea often earned it's reputation by the qualities - or lack thereof - of it's drinking establishments, women and tattoo artists.
A quote is just a tattoo on the tongue.
