Huntington Beach Skate BBQ Grind.
We were introduced to the world of skating when a friend invited us to a low key skate party in Huntington Beach California. When I say 'low key', I mean this thing took place in someones back yard and not a convention center. We were surprised to see well over 200 people of all styles there. There were rockers, hippies, bikers, musicians, chicanos, asians, peckerwoods and you name it, IT WAS THERE!
The sweet smell of hamburgers, hotdogs, beer and colitas filled the air. It was quite an illusion to see suicidal skaters pull off dangerous stunts , some nearly killing themselves. We tip our hats to every brave ass skater who risked his wig, especially the stuntman who skated off a 15 foot high roof and into a 12 foot deep skate pool. That bad man nearly broke his tail bone in the process.
And just when we thought we'd seen it all, this brother flys out on his board like superman WITH A BEER IN HIS HAND! ........Damn bro never in our lives had we seen anyone pro skate while under the influence!
Only in beautiful California will anyone ever see something like this. So attention world, plan out your next spring break vacation over here. Lifes too short to wait any longer. JUST DO IT!!!!
Skate Board History
Skateboarding first started in Southern Califonia in the 1950s, when all surfers got the bright idea of trying to surf the streets on wheels. No one really knows who made the first skate board.
California kids would dismantle the wheels off regular skates and screw them onto wooden boxes, but as the years passed they eventually found that rolling in a board was much more fun. Kids became masters at skateboarders as they grew into their teens and adulthood. It is very common in California to see adults on skateboards. With age come greater experience and a seasoned skater knows his board like his own family.

so that even the sight of a skateboarding decal
is enough to make some faint, it appears
would they feel any better to see you drinking beer?
we mustn’t forget that the word community
also contains another word – unity
don’t criticize young people just for having fun
what if instead of skateboarding, they began to run?
would that be seen as threatening too?
maybe you’d rather put them all in the zoo
the joie de vivre of the skateboarding bunch
should not be knocked too much
don’t think just because they’re in a skateboarding park
that they can’t be trusted not to do God knows what after dark
any of you who do not trust the teens
forget that it was once you decked out in blue jeans
did adults then want to send you on your way
when you had found something that made you want to stay?
