Robert Edward Machado, is internationally known for his surfing style and consistent ranking as a competitor on the WCT Surfing Tour.
Machado has consistently ranked among the top ten surfers in the world eleven years in a row.
Rob has won many prestigious contests, including the U.S. Open of Surfing and Hawaii’s Pipeline Masters. In 2000 Rob Machado was inducted into the Surfers Hall of Fame and re-inducted in 2006.
Machado is known for his laid back style and is considered a soul surfer because of smooth style. This earned him the name “Mr Smoothy” Rob participates in an annual event at his home reef called The Rob Machado Surf Classic and Beach fair, an amateur competition for the locals and is for all ages. Rob is currently voted in surf magazines as reader’s favorites.
