Beating a Dead Horse

(Petulant Paula's eye on weird news)

I know!! You are not supposed to beat a dead horse to death,----But, this Global Warming stuff is Scary!

Now the Legislature is considering a Cap and Trade Law, putting a cap
on the use of , and finding new sources of fossil fuels.. They have no idea
or formulae as to whether this will cure or help anything. It is easier
to pass a law than find a solution!

What we do know for certain is that forcing people to cut down on fossil
fuel and use more expensive, less available alternatives will drive the
cost of living up around the world.

Here, and in most of Europe, we can choose to drive less, car pool, do
public transportation, don't go out to eat as much,-change our diets to
less expensive foods.Of course this will still affect all the businesses
whose products and services we decide to forego, but at least most of us
have a choice.

In the majority of the rest of the world, it will be a choice of when
can we eat and what can we afford to eat, and what is available to eat..

In Haiti, the majority of the people are very poor. Their diet is now
"Mud Cake"! I kid you not-they take mud, butter, and sugar and make a thin
mud cake and bake it in the sun. That is what is for dinner tonight! They do
not ask "Where"s the Beef", they plead, where is the food?

Many countries have had food riots, demanding food and price lowering on
staples, so they can afford to feed their families (they can go to jail
for this, just for being hungry!)

Corn and grains are going into gas tanks instead of stomachs. Soy beans
are being made into Styrofoam for baffling and interior padding of new
cars. These are staple food items in poor areas.

Farmers are getting 52 cents per gallon of ethanol, from the corn and
grains to use instead of gas, and the starving world's hungry are
getting gas from bloated empty stomachs!

There is no new off shore oil drilling allowed, so the water does not
get polluted and the fish do not disappear. Yet, when Katrina hit the off
shore oilrigs, it damaged them, but not one drop of oil spilled, the
containment technology s so good today!

If we continue to limit the mining and drilling of fossil fuels,
hundreds of millions of people will die of hardship and starvation. The world's
economy is fossil fuel energy driven, and until we come up with more
nuclear, solar, wind and better fuel sources, we will not be able to
afford even the basics, as costs skyrocket because of the higher costs
of wasted millions of dollars spent to try to control climate changes with
no real knowledge of how to do , or any real proof that the Global Warming
Pundits are correct...Humans should outrank animal, vegetable, and
mineral, and water rights! Let us work together to feed the world and
preserve human life. And add some dignity to it.

Convicts at an upstate New York Penitentiary heard about the Haitian
Mud Cakes and sent their meager 12 cents an hour pay, and food stuffs they
had bought in their commissary and sent it to Haiti to help the Haitian
hungry.

What can you and I do? Educate ourselves about this stuff. Go to We Get
It .com and learn and sign the petition, if you feel so inclined. Write
your government at all levels, get information from them, as to what they are
planning or doing, what projects are out there. Let's find a better
answer and be more pro active.

In this country, the richest country in the world, we have whole
families living on the streets. Most are working, but cannot afford housing, and
barely are able to feed their children .What happens now, with gas over
$ 4.00.-how do they survive when food prices skyrocket, as fuel costs and
food, and basic needs costs go up?

Wake up America-Let's tell our government what WE want, just like the
special interest groups do! Government is only to PROTECT, DEFEND AND
SERVE, not victimize and crush their citizens.
Send in ideas, to us, to our representatives. Find a way to participate
and share, with us, and with our government!
God Bless America!
