Is Machismo Good or Bad?

Most english dictionaries define the word Machismo as: a strong or exaggerated sense of manliness; an assumptive attitude that virility, courage, strength, and entitlement to dominate are attributes or concomitants of masculinity.

When most people hear the word machismo the first thing that comes to mind is some uneducated bozo beating his hairy chest like a gorilla.

Our politically correct society mocks the macho man image and teaches young boys throughout school, radio and television to deny that “stupid” character trait.
That’s likely the reason many young men of today lack machismo and self esteem, while women seem to be embracing it. That may also be the reason why women are advancing in school while men are dropping out.

I rarely see young boys walking with their heads up anymore and the ones who are talk and act more like girls. Young men figure it’s easier to act like sissies since expressing ones natural machismo is like walking on eggshells. The fact is men are losing and losing big. At this rate I’d hate to imagine the male situation in the coming decades.

As for me, my machismo is what helps me handle the obstacles of everyday life. Ask any macho man what his biggest joy is, and other than his Harley Davidson Night Train, he may likely say serving his lady and treating her with kindness and respect, just as many men of the past did. Small wonder many men of today lack the balls to stay true to their marriage and children.

Machismo gives men strength, NO SHIT! It fuels them with the desire to be the best in everything they do, including being real fathers to their children. My father was macho. He was a strong and polite man who opened doors for my mother out of all due respect and never mouthed an impolite word in her presence. He had no complex about mowing the lawn or plumbing, and when my mom was feeling sick he would dip his leathery hands into the sink and wash dishes without a second thought. He was totally secure about his manhood. Same with my mother, she took pride in the kitchen. She enjoyed the art of cooking. She loved being the lady of the house and always felt safe and secure with her macho man taking care of his business. Those qualities are fading away fast.

I find a lot of women of today ashamed of anything associated with the kitchen or laundry. Any woman with that kind of petty complex is likely too shallow to understand her man or herself, much less fry an egg. And as for the modern day sissy boy, I find that many of them lack balls to be direct or speak their minds. Instead all they do is roll over and let their vato queen slap them in the potpies.

As I mentioned before, I’m not ashamed of my machismo and will raise my sons to also embrace theirs. I will teach them that a mans machismo is what pushes him into blazing through his own trails instead of expecting society to issue him out a path. After all it was machismo that gave George Washington the courage in becoming one of the bravest revolutionary leaders in history. He didn’t half step his way around or wave a limp wrist at his soldiers.

Now as for women, there’s no need to be ashamed of your natural femininity. Why feel the need to walk around like a dude. Why beat your chest and injure your breasts. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with acting like a lady. In fact women who carry themselves like ladies have the sensual power to motivate their man into being all he can be for her. That power is fair and doesn’t break the laws of nature. So why deny it? Why lose it? Why not go with the natural flow and enjoy the qualities of your own sex. Use it as nature intended. Unless you desire having your man act more like one of your girlfriends, leave his ego and machismo alone. That’s what makes him a great provider, a good father and quality friend.

Peace Out, Macho Marrufo
