Kelly Slater has dominated the sport since 1992 when he won his first ASP
World Title in 1992. He quickly led surfing into the twenty-first century
in the 90’s and won six ASP world titles. After taking a brief break from
touring (1999-2001) he dropped back into competition to face new
competitors like Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson, and Andy Irons. Kelly today
is an 8 time world champion and in 2007 passed Tom Curren by winning the
Boost Mobile Pro. When he is not competing Kelly spends much of his time
doing charity work for organizations such as Life Rolls On, Space Coast
Early Intervention Center, and Surf Aid.
