Electric Daisy Carnival is a wild annual DJ music rave held on the last Saturday of June in Southern California. This exotic event  has grown in popularity and now exceeds the West Coast.  The festival  has numerous stages with famous DJ's from all over the world.

History of

Rave Parties.

Rave parties aka "bohemian parties" were popular in the late 70's and 80's and originated in London, then spread to Berlin Germany and eventually America.

Raves attracted people of every race and style, so it  was common to see all kinds of exotic looking individuals dancing and getting high together.

As Euro Electro Rave music gained international popularity, so did the rave culture of throwing huge DJ parties in abandoned ware houses, secluded beaches, deserts and other hidden locations.

Many underground DJ's promoted these rave bashes and would organize them by partnering with other DJ's and even drug dealers.

Artsy Flyers were often distributed to hip and rebellious youths in schools and collages showing them directions to these raves. The directions often changed in the last minute as a way to keep police and their snitches from busting the party.

With plenty of kegs, jungle juice and ecstasy, it was common for people to overdose and get extremely wild.  In 1994 the English government passed a law called the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act and several mass raids and arrests were made on DJ's across England.

The United States government soon followed by passing similar laws and cracked down on their youth gone wild as well.  Any DJ caught profiting off or promoting a rave party was charged and indicted with drug dealing, unlawful sales and distribution of alcohol, furnishing alcohol to minors, racketeering, and engaging in criminal activities.

Those were the same serious charges being brought against the Mafia and other major organized criminal gangs. That kind of heat was what nearly killed the rave culture in the early 90's.

Wild Child

Well I'm just outa school
Like I'm real real cool
Gotta dance like a fool
Got the message that I gotta be
A wild one
Ooh yeah I'm a wild one

Gotta break it loose
Gonna keep 'em movin' wild
Gonna keep a swingin' baby
I'm a real wild child

Well, I'm a real wild one
An' I like a wild fun
In a world gone crazy
Everything seems hazy
I'm a wild one
Ooh yeah I'm a wild one

Gotta break it loose
Gonna keep 'em movin' wild
Gonna keep a swingin' baby
I'm a real wild child

Well I'm just outa school
Like I'm real real cool
Gotta dance like a fool
Got the message that I gotta be
A wild one
Ooh yeah I'm a wild one

Gotta break it loose
Gonna keep 'em movin' wild
Gonna keep a swingin' baby
I'm a real wild child

I'm a wild one
Ooh yeah
I'm a wild one
Oh yeah
I'm a wild one
Oh baby
I'm a wild one

Gotta break it loose
Gonna keep 'em movin' wild
Gonna keep a swingin' baby
I'm a real wild child

Youth Gone Wild

Whoa yeah

Since I was born they couldn't hold me down
Another misfit kid, another burned-out town

I never played by the rules and I never really cared
My nasty reputation takes me everywhere

I look and see it's not only me
So many others have stood where I stand
We are the young so raise your hands

They call us problem child
We spend our lives on trial
We walk an endless mile
We are the youth gone wild
We stand and we won't fall
We're wanted, one for all
The writing's on the wall
We are the youth gone wild

Boss screamin' in my ear about who I'm supposed to be
Get a 3-piece Wall Street smash and then you'll look just like me

I said "Hey man, there's something that you oughta know.
I tell ya Park Avenue leads to Skid Row."

Well I look and see it's not only me
We're standin' tall ain't never a doubt
We are the young, so shout it out

They call us problem child
We spend our lives on trial
We walk an endless mile
We are the youth gone wild
We stand and we won't fall
We're wanted, one for all
The writing's on the wall
We are the youth gone wild

Well let me hear you wail

They call us problems child
We spend our lives on trial
We walk an endless mile
(We are the youth gone wild)
We stand and we won't fall
We're wanted, one for all
The writing's on the wall
(We are the youth gone wild)

They call us problem child
We spend our lives on trial
We walk an endless mile
We stand and we won't fall
We're wanted, one for all

Whoa
We are the youth gone wild

Whoa
We are the youth gone wild

Yeah
We are the youth gone wild

Whoa
We are the youth gone wild
Gone wild
