Capitol Eye

LONG BEACH, CA

If we were asked to define Capitol Eye in 5 words, we'd start by describing their 5 distinct members.

That’s because these guys are everything from DJ's and Cholo's, to Thrashers and Rockers. Just look at these dudes!

Vocalist I-Man and DJ Hellnaw obviously master Hip-Hop to the fullest. Then there’s heavy metal style drummer, bassist and guitarists Mike Long, Dame Dog and Sauce. What a combination!

Now mix all of that into music and you come up with a recipe of jam similar to that of Cypress Hill and the Suicidal Tendencies.

Just like Cashis & Young De, this bad boy of a band kicked ass at Chronic Cantina's Life Rolls on Charity Event. We digged Capitol Eye's style and so did the crowd, especially the sexy chicks who jumped onto stage to give these guys some animo.
These guys have their shit going right and we sure do look forward into listening to their next release.

About

Capitol Eye

I-Man had been laying down lyrics and vocals with ThaMexikanz/Malafia for a few years when he realized that he wanted to get more aggressive with a live band. In 1998 he met Mike Long at a bar and soon they were creating with Sauce, Hellnaw and Dame Dog. The first practice we had, it just clicked. It felt like wed been playing together forever, remembers I-Man. Mike Long, who’s been a multi-instrumentalist since early childhood, agrees, when we first met we just started writing songs straight-up for like 6 weeks! Capitol Eye has performed with Cypress Hill, Limp Bizkit, Kool Keith, KRS-One, Black Eyed Peas, The Vandals, Method Man, Long Beach Dub Allstars, Pennywise, 311 and TSOL. Mood Swingz was the first cd to hit the streets and was recorded with Eddie Ashworth (Sublime, Pennywise) who captured the bands intensity and energy flawlessly. The production is crisp, the layering is deep, and the delivery is tight. Songs like Lets Go are full of high-energy instrument mutilation, while the remake of Sly and the Family Stones If You Want Me to stay grooves just like it did in the 70s. On tracks like The Dice Roll and What My Eyes Have Seen, the reality of Capitol Eye is revealed. Raw raps, aggressive metal riffs, mellow jams, dance grooves and slow songs all do time on the album. In between songs, sound bytes are there to ease I-mans conscious lyrics along smoothly. I-Man relates stories from his past, the way he grew up, and what he sees around him now. Mood Swingz is a personal album, full of emotion and dedication. It will take you on a musical journey into the world of a band that’s having an immense impact on the scene today. Capitol Eye continues to prove themselves on stage, at parties, on the Internet, in your car, or anywhere their music is played.

Capital Eye Lyrics

(We Are The Revolution)

I'm a bit on the fringe
And no one's gonna stop me
Live your life like the end
Cuz nothing lasts forever
There's one thing on my mind
Keeps growing every second
Our future we've come to fear

We are the Revolution
We've come to take what is ours
The counter generation
A whole new era is born

I don't need therapy
I know that true love never will die
I've been shackled and chained
But my heart will always be free
And I have some loud words
They shake the depths of this whole planet
The message goes far and wide

We are the Revolution
We've come to take what is ours
The counter generation
A whole new era is born

Blood is spilled and the innocent die
Without a reason and I wonder why
Now's the time to strive for better days
Where all race, gender and religion are created equal

We are the Revolution
We've come to take what is ours
We are the Revolution
We've come to take what is ours

We are the Revolution
We've come to take what is ours
The counter generation
A whole new era is born
