Big Wave Gun
Big Wave Gun surfing is an extreme frontier of extreme sports. Surfers are towed onto waves, which are a minimum of 20 feet high on surfboards.
Known as guns or sometimes-called rhino chasers, the bigger the wave the bigger the surfboard needs to be in order to catch it.
Large boards allows for faster paddling and are much more stable. The big wave gun has changed the least compared to other surfboards over the years.
This is because the mission has never changed, build up steam with at least 3 strokes, bust through the ledge, go down the face, and reconnect and worry later.
If you look at a gun, the design components are very simple and the purest of all boards. The primary purpose when shaping a gun is for paddle power and survival.
