Interview By:MuSiC-B-RiZzLe
MuSiC-B-RiZzLe is proud to introduce to you La Lady Casper, both great singer and talented rapper for the chingon Latin hip-hop group Azteca Gangstas. After meeting with this proud and graceful Latina , we of MuSiC-B-RiZzLe received all the right vibes of authenticity. Not only does the Azteca Gangstas jam but they’re the only all family group we’ve ever come across. Azteca Gangstas can’t go wrong with a mother and her two daughters in charge. We were extremely impressed and contacted Lady Casper of the Azteca Gangstas for this interview.
MuSiC-B-RiZzLe: Nice having you here for this interview Lady Casper.
Lady Casper: Thank you for having me im glad to be here.
MuSiC-B-RiZzLe: Lady Casper, as you know almost everybody reserves a place in their heart for their hometown, so what lucky city gets to claim you?
Lady Casper: Well I’ve lived in a lot of different cities in my life, with my Dad being in the military and all, pero I’d have to say San Diego has to be my hometown.
MuSiC-B-RiZzLe: A Califas girl huh. Azteca Gangstas is presently an all woman crew but originally started with both vatos and yourself. What caused the break up of such a firme hip-hop crew?
Lady Casper: (Laughs) That’s a tricky question… It’s like this, we were all firme but the vatos promoting our music were cutting us out of the songs and trying to replace us with other hynas who couldn’t sing ,but we caught on real quick and bounced from that scene and now we’re doing our own thang.
MuSiC-B-RiZzLe: Who were the musicians who inspired you to become the Azteca Gangstas you are today?
Lady Casper : Damn that’s hard to say since my daughters and me are of different generations but I’d have to say the SOS and GAP BAND… and Oldies of course. As for my girls, Justin Timberlake, Mr. Capone- e, Tupac and Oldies too.
MuSiC-B-RiZzLe: You obviously have a great taste in music and quite a voice aswell. At what age did you discover your talent in singing and rapping?
Lady Casper: I sang all through high school and at different house parties but I didn’t take it serious until my daughters Lil Whisper and Lil Shadow started doing it two years ago.
MuSiC-B-RiZzLe: Did anyone ever try to discourage you from pursuing music? If so what did you learn off that experience?
Lady Casper : Yeah the vatos we were first with started hating on us and this what I have to say about that, “ We’re still here, something you didn’t know ,something like a miracle kept you away from me. We’re still pursuing our dreams and making it to the top like stars. We’re getting our shine on so keep hating because you’re going to make me famous one day” (Laughs) Naw, I learned that people always got to be negative if you’re trying and getting somewhere while they are not.
MuSiC-B-RiZzLe: It’s called “crabs in a bucket”. How did the Azteca Gangstas come to existence? Whose idea was it to create this hip-hop group?
Lady Casper: My daughter LIL WHISPERZ was only 13 when she attended a car show here in Denver Colorado, and they were having a free flow concert so she got up on stage and did her thing. After that she was approached by some producers that wanted her to come to the studio so we did and all three of us started putting down our talents. We did a few shows and were getting recognized, but that’s when they started hating so we decided to go solo.
MuSiC-B-RiZzLe: Have you ever considered singing R & B or another style of music? You certainly have the voice.
Lady Casper: Yes were working with new styles so that we can be versatile. We sing whatever comes to mind not just gangsta rap
MuSiC-B-RiZzLe: What do you consider the main obstacle for artists such as yourself in making it to the top today?
Lady Casper: Connections, Money and Haterz. If you’ve got doubt about what you can bring to the table then you fail.
MuSiC-B-RiZzLe: Name 2 of the hardest lessons you've learned while pursuing your music career?
Lady Casper: 1/ Trusting people that say their there to support you and get your music out but then end up burning you to the fullest. 2/ You have no friends in the music business, only people you know because so far the ones I thought were down turned out to be fakers and liars.
MuSiC-B-RiZzLe: What advice may you offer every female musician trying to make it in today’s music industry?
Lady Casper: If you’re straight about your shit then pursue that shit mama and don’t let no one get you down. Where theres a will, there’s a way and God knows what’s up, He gave us our talents so it’s up to us to use them.
MuSiC-B-RiZzLe: Lady Casper thank you for taking the time to participate in this interview. It was a pleasure and we of ConvictedArtist.com certainly see you and the Azteca Gangstas blazing it up successfully. Before we close is there anything you’d like to say to your gente? Please make a shout out.
MuSiC-B-RiZzLe: To all the firme gente out there checkin this site out much respect and appreciation. Its hard sometimes but YOU MAKE YOUR DESTINY. FOLLOW YOUR HEART AND ALL YOUR DREAMZ WILL COME TRUE!!! Love Lady Casper.
