Discarded Love
Bleak midwinter
And snow lies all around
My heart is cold and empty
And I long to walk on the hot sand
With the sun burning my body
And my love close at hand
Will you ever return?
Or will I always live in bleak midwinter
Send me word of where you are
Have you found a new love?
Have you moved on to someone new?
I am still in a frozen state
Stuck rigid where you left me
Unable to move on
One kiss would thaw my bones
One moment of bliss would unfreeze my toes
I would follow you to the ends of the earth
But my feet are frozen to the ground
And all around there is no sound
In this frozen wilderness
I will live forever
Suspended in time
A monument to discarded love.
Lake of Drowning Souls
Journey into the darkest recesses of your mind
Far off chants signal eternal doom
You try to get away
Swimming through a dark, poisonous substance
Which seeps into your skin
A million drowning souls claw at your body
You desperately head for the shore
And scramble out
Onto an island you know not where
Witches and goblins stare back at you
With a hideous intensity in their eyes
You are their prey
A soul for the taking
An inner awakening
Onto a whole new world
Of evil and torment
Again you run
The sky is dark
And the shouts and screams are close at hand
They are ready to pounce
You must get away
You wake up
Safe for another day
But when you sleep
They will enter your dreams
Oblivious to your screams
One night they will take you away
To their world
And untold evil and torment
Will be your daily toil
“Sweet dreams!”

Ravey Baby
By. Filoso
Ravey Baby took a walk in the city
She knew what she wanted
She was at an age to make her own decisions
The tales of the city slickers did not scare her
She wanted to meet the bad boys of the city
She had a wild spirit of her own
A pack of stray dogs encircled her
And the pack leader bounded towards her
And transformed into a handsome figure of a man
He had a dual identity
A spirit of the beast and the spirit of mankind
He preferred the spirit of hell
It was less judgmental
Less prone to lies and distortion
He held Ravey Baby in his arms
And then he kissed her
He took a bite of her neck
And she succumbed willingly
She too would become a spirit of the city
No more hypocrisy and lies
She transformed into a butterfly
And joined the pack
Later the city slickers found her shoe
There was blood on the heal and hairs of a dog
They mourned her loss
And vowed to kill the dogs
But Ravey Baby was not concerned
She had a new life and a new community
Her family surrounded her and played happily
She was a true spirit of hell
