"Aztec Autumn"

By. David Arredondo

MATERIALS USED: Cold press surface (15" x 20") illustration board of medium weight oil pastels, oil based colored pencils.

PAINTING SIGNIFICANCE: "The seeds of greatness, the seeds of destruction" A great and proud 200-year-old seemingly invincible nation was cut down in just two short years. Fallen seeds of a condemned tribe known for its bravery and brutality. Seeds in which grew and where forced to adapt to the new world that conquered theirs, the life of European living. Aztec Autumn is a portrait of one of many lost seeds. Lost in between her dieing native roots and today's influential European culture.
